When potential clients visit your venue do you want to make them instantly feel that this is the venue for them? I’m sure you’re aware there are many factors at the heart of this feeling and the overall look of your venue plays a major part. From where your brides get ready on the day to the ceremony & reception areas to the honeymoon suite & guest accommodation afterward; the entire setting should have that cohesive special feeling that your potential clients are searching for and that’s what will put your venue above all the rest. If your venue hasn’t been updated in the last 10+ years you’re missing a huge trick within the industry.

Dressing Rooms

We cannot express the importance of a good bridal dressing room enough! It should be a beautiful haven that is inviting & serene & really sets the scene of how the entire day will unfold. If the bridal suite is a calming, organised & stunning setting to be in, then surely the rest of the venue & day will feel the same?

We concentrate on the importance of good lighting for hair & make up along with good photography. Useable storage and places to keep belongings out of the way is also key to keeping the area stress free and tidy for photographs. Sometimes as many as 10 bridesmaids can be getting ready in the same room so plenty of space and stations for individuals to get ready at is important (small areas can be worked with too).

The finishing touches are often forgotten but are imperative, such as a place to present the brides jewellery, shoes, bouquet & of course; the dress! As well as somewhere for the bridal party to gather and enjoy a glass of fizz together before the main event! All these finishing touches will really make what can be a very nerve wracking & stressful part of the day a wonderful, relaxing & exciting experience and a part of the day to remember!

Ceremony Areas

The main part of the day, of course calls for beauty but also surprising simplicity. Each couple needs to walk in to your venue and visualise themselves getting married there, let them imagine where they will walk down the aisle, where their flowers will be placed and what they want as their aisle back drop.

The surroundings should really do the talking here & if you are missing that special something for your ceremony area we will create something for you; this could be done with simple mouldings, or a stunning fireplace. Even the choice of chairs for your guests or signing table can make a huge difference to how your potential couples will view this space.

Reception & Dining

We pride ourselves on the ability to create stunning spaces for guests to dine & lounge, whether for a wedding reception or for a simple afternoon tea for two. Creating a space that is spectacular for wedding guests to gather and celebrate and adapting it to be suitable for day to day dining is an art.

We also have lots of fun being creative with outdoor reception ‘Rooms’ bringing the inside out, with interior décor such as chandeliers hanging from trees and beautiful upholstery for gather areas. Being able to move reception rooms outdoors is essential during summer months, especially if your venue has spectacular grounds or gardens to soak up.


Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could guarantee that every time you receive a wedding booking your rooms become fully booked also? Creating lovely accommodation that is unique and links to your overall venue theme and style will certainly make that a possibility! All too often you see stunning venues with architecture & surroundings to die for but they are let down by the interior design (or lack of it!) Especially when it comes to the accommodation; with dingy old fashioned furniture & patterned carpets along with bathroom suites that were clearly fitted in the 90’s or much earlier!

Just like all the other parts of the day, the end of the day is equally as significant. This is where the newly married couple get to retreat & unwind. Somewhere for them to soak in each other along with sharing memories and moments of their special day. It is about creating a space that is elegant, romantic, slightly alluring but above all peaceful & relaxing.

The Happy Guest

If you are providing accommodation to wedding guests it’s vital you don’t do this half heartedly; ensure it’s an extension of their entire experience with you. Provide them with beautifully designed rooms along with a memorable breakfast the day after & ensure they’re gushing over not just what a fantastic day they had but also what a wonderful stay they had!

The Little Things

When returning home from a showround your potential couples (usually the bride) should be gushing with excitement & envisioning exactly how their day will unfold. Surprisingly it’s the little things that stick in people’s minds, for example when I returned home from visiting my own wedding venue my Mum reminded me I was obsessed with the walk!…a beautiful walk through a splendid garden that began at a cute little gate with a heart carved in to it. Such a simple thing but this is what makes a venue so special & unique.
